How to Pray for Growth Group
Sometimes we don’t know what we should pray for outside of requests. Here are some ideas:
- Pray they would grow spiritually mature and Christ-like in character.
- Pray that they would overcome sin in their life.
- Pray that they would know the will of God for their life.
- Pray for protection from the devil.
- Pray that they would be delivered from the temptations of the world and not fall away from God.
- Pray that they would be bold, effective witnesses for Jesus Christ.
- Pray for unity and love every time disunity or division is observed, especially in families and in leadership circles.
- Pray their daily provision would be abundant, stewardship faithful, and heart grateful.
- Pray that they would develop such a deep love relationship with Christ that their love would be contagious.
What is Your Why?
Have you considered why you choose to read your Bible every day? Or make time to pray each day? Why have you chosen the goals you’ve written down? Chances are you’ve chosen them because they connect to something bigger – a greater purpose in your life or a heart’s desire.
Identifying these specific purposes in your life (communing with the Lord, being the spouse God created you to be, serving the family of Christ) can help you to intentionally choose goals that will move you forward in each of these areas. Taking the time to dig in to your heart can help you to see the desire of your heart and motivate you in your daily walk with Christ.
Sometimes we think too big. Take a deep breath, and ask God for wisdom to see His will for your life. Trust Him to guide you.
