Our Vision Statement

Spread the love

East Kelso Baptist is a House of Prayer
Committed to Loving Jesus, Building Families,
and Walking in Freedom

 A House of Prayer!

Matt 21:13

“My house will be called a house of prayer,”  NIV

Nothing builds us into a true family of faith like our commitment to  prayer.

In Prayer We:

Seek God’s Direction for His Church and our Individual Lives.

Bear one anothers burdens.

Seek and Sow the Salvation of the Lost.

Cover our Missionaries.

Stand with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ beyond our church in our community and world.

Find Love and Unity Worthy of our calling in Christ.

So We Pray….

In and for our Growth Groups.

In our worship services.

Each Sunday Morning before Worship.

So We Pray….

Through our Prayer Team and prayer chain bearing one another’s burdens.

With fasting all day and all night in Prayer events.

And we Study Prayer…

In Worship, In Prayer Events and at Conferences….

Annually we attend the

Impact Prayer Seminar

in Jefferson Oregon

led by Pastor Dee Duke.

Committed to Loving Jesus!

Matt 22:37-39

Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment…”

NIV

We believe the single most significant relationship that anyone can have in this world is the love relationship one has with God through Jesus Christ.

This Love relationship with God, if based on any other foundation than that of the work of Jesus Christ is a counterfeit.  The only way one can come to a love relationship with God is through the door of repentance and faith, believing and receiving Jesus Christ.

Thus, ‘Saving Faith’ as Bob Utley states often in his commentary on Romans has several elements:

A Message to be Believed.

A Person to be Received.

An initial and ongoing repentance and faith response.

An ongoing life of Obedience and Perseverance.

 Without this Love Relationship…..

Mankind is Lost….

Without Hope of Abundant Life or Eternal Life….

Desperately in Need of Salvation!

Building Families!

We do not have a youth ministry per se at EKBC.  We seek to do as much as possible as a family unit. This does not mean that our Sunday School and some of our Bible Studies are not age graded for maturational and learning level purposes. What this does mean is that our ministry activities, fellowship and recreational activities, though perhaps targeting a particular age group, are done as families.

This can be illustrated by looking at our outreach events.  Our outreach events are family driven..Vacation Bible School, Palm Sunday Easter Event, Mother’s Day Evangelism Event and the Dinner Theater program…are all family staffed and family events.  Our history as a church does not include youth camp or children’s camp but rather Family Camp.  As soon as possible children are encouraged to sit with their family in worship services and our Wednesday Family Night program seeks to include the whole family.

We also have study courses to train parents and strengthen marriages. Studies we currently offer on a rotating basis include:

Growing Kids God’s Way

by Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo.

 Shepherding a Child’s Heart

by Ted Tripp

 Christ Centered Marriage

by Neil Anderson

Walking in Freedom!

John 8:31-32

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” NIV

 John 14:6-7

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. NIV

Can Jesus Really Set Me Free?

Sure, if your desire is to be free from condemnation, addiction, abuse, hatred, sin, and every other foothold the devil gains in our lives as we believe his lies.

A life ‘born again’ in Christ Jesus and growing in faithful obedience can truly be transformed and at peace with God.

We invite you to come Grow with us!

Join a Growth Group,

Attend Sunday School,

Engage in a Bible Study,

Fellowship with the saints in Worship, and join us in ministering to our community and world.

It could change your life forever!

 Prov 27:17

As iron sharpens iron,

so one man sharpens another.

NIV
