Scope And Sequence of EKBC’s Next Generation

It is our desire that every young person have a heart for God!

If God Does not allow us to reach the next generation’s heart, then the effort is wasted.

It is the heart that we are focused on, not the cognitive assimilation of material.  If we cannot relate it all back to real life with our Loving God we have lost our focus.

Developing and Maintaining Your Personal
Love Relationship with God
Concepts to Master:

  • How to Have a Quiet Time. (Back to The Basics/Growth Group
    material)
  • How to Get the Most out of Sermons and Bible Studies. (Back to
    The Basics)
  • How to Develop a prayer journal and activate a meaningful prayer
    life. (Growth Group Material)
  • How to Set Goals that will change your life. (Growth Group
    Booklet/Dee Duke material)
We desire to teach the next generation how to grow on a personal
level with the Lord by listening to His Spirit and interacting with Him
through His Word (Bible) and in Prayer on a Daily Basis.  We desire
that they understand that this individual personal time with God (though
necessary for them to come to maturity in Christ) does not replace or
eliminate the need for involvement in the corporate body, the family of
God, in order to grow to full maturity in Christ. (See Ephesians 4)

Evangelism
Concepts to Master:

  • How to develop and present a personal Testimony. (Everyone, Everywhere)
  • Mastery in sharing God’s “Plan of Salvation”. (Various Tracts/Pastor’s
    Evangelism Plan)
As Evangelical Christian we believe and teach that every believe has a
responsibility to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with a lost and dying world.
Thus, we seek to equip them to be able to share the Gospel efficiently.

They well be asked to set up a prayer routine for the Lost People in their
lives, to serve those people where possible, to pray with those people when
possible, to invite those people to crossover events, to invite those people to
Christ.

Stewardship
Concepts to Master:

  • How to Honor God in a Material World. –Money–(Fusion)
  • How to Managing Time. –Time–(Fusion)
  • How to navigate with success the responsibility that is our in managing
    our: Thoughts, Words, Actions, Attitudes, Motives.
We Desire to teach the next Generation how to honor God by being good
stewards of all he gives starting with time and money and going from there.
The Bible teaches that we all have a personal stewardship in at least five
specific areas:  We are Responsible  before God for, Every Word, Every
Thought, Every Action, Every Attitude, and ever Motive of the heart.

Significance and Purpose in Life
Concepts to Master:

  • How to Develop a Biblical Self-esteem. (Neil Anderson Material)
  • Discovering “Who I am in Christ”. (Neil Anderson Material)
  • How to Develop a ministry within the Body of Christ. (Purpose Driven
    Life Material)
  • How to Develop a ministry in my World. (Purpose Driven Life Material)
It is our desire that every believer would have an eternal purpose and
perspective in living that would drag them out of bed every morning with a focus
and hope beyond the temporal situations and circumstances of this life and
world.

Finding that Perfect Someone
Concepts to Master:

  • How to Honor Christ during the Single Years.
  • How to Relate to the Opposite Sex During the Single Years.
  • How to Find the Spouse God Has For me.

We desire that every young person bring as much to the marriage alter as
possible in order to establish a foundation on which a solid marriage can be
established.  It is homes such as this that another faithful generation can
best grow and prosper in the love and ways of the Lord.

Family Relations
Concepts to Master:

  • How to get the most Spiritual Growth out of your Family Relationships.
  • An understanding of God’s Concepts of Authority and how to properly
    relate to authority.
  • Responsibility verses Privilege. (True Test)
The family should be the first training ground for the things of God in the
Life of every person.  When the family breaks down so does your best shot
at maximum growth.  We desire all families to work in unity and love
understanding that a house divided against itself will not stand.

 

Spiritual Freedom
Concepts to Master:

  • What is your absolute source of Authority.
  • How do we deal with sin in our lives.
  • What is true Biblical Accountability.
  • Rebellion vs. Submission. (Steps to Freedom in Christ, Bondage Breaker,
    Survival Kit)
We desire that every believer break free from sinful addictions and every sin
that so easily besets us to walk in true victory in obedience to Christ.

Principles for a Solid Faith Base
Concepts to Master:

  • Basic Apologetics in dealing with Evolution Concepts (Answers in
    Genesis/Truth Project)
  • Basic Apologetics in Dealing with the New Age Movement (Neil Anderson)
  • Basic Apologetics in Understanding our age and times. (Revelation, David
    Jeremiah)
We Desire to put a solid Biblical Foundation under each believer so that they
are not toss to and fro by every whim of doctrine and the deception of this
world.

Mission Training
Concepts to Master:

  • How to Lead a Bible Study. (Luke, Mark & Acts Study/ Teaching Techniques
    for VBS)
  • How to be a Contributing Part of a Ministry Team. (Etiquette and
    Principles for Serving)
  • How to interact with a Ministry Team. (Touring Techniques)
  • How to effectively communicate Biblical truth through
    Puppetry/Drama/Music. (Ministry Team Training)
We desire to see God use the collective gifting of the body of Christ, the
Church, for the edification of the saints for the work of the ministry.
